Excess Baggage....
Frequently Asked Questions.
Q. How should I pack my stuff ?
A. Pack in any suitable container, this could be a suitcase or a sturdy cardboard box, remember, the packaging is there to protect the contents so pack accordingly, don't overpack items as the container could burst !
Q. Do you charge by the Kilo ?
A. No, we charge by the total weight of the consignment.
Q. Am I charged for the number of pieces or the weight ?
A. You are charged for the overall weight, whether you have one piece weighing a total of 20kgs or 5 pieces weighing a total of 20kgs.
Q. Are my things insured ?
A. Yes, under IATA your goods are insured based on a "per Kilo" rate, as this rate can fluctuate we do not produce it here, but it is in the region of £16.00 - £18.00 per kilo, we recommend that you take out separate insurance for anything you consider of high value.
Note: In the unlikly event of your shipment being damaged, a report must be filed at the point of collection, if this is not done we cannot be held responsible for any damage.
Q. How long does it take my stuff to arrive ?
A. That depends on where it is going, we work on an average of 3 days for Europe, US & Canada, 5 days to the Middle East & Africa and 7 days to the Far East, Australia & New Zealand.
Q. Will I be charged anything when I collect my stuff at destination ?
A. Usually their is a small handling fee that is paid to our agents at destination, we try and incorporate this charge into our charges when we provide a quotation, but the requirement is that it has to be paid to the agent at destination.
Also, if their are any "Dutiable" items, Customs at destination may also levy a Duty Tax if relevant, finally, any shipments to Australia attract a MAFF charge, this is approximately £24.00 and again has to be paid at destination.
Q. Are their any restrictions on what I can send ?
A. Yes, we are not permitted to accept anything Flammable, i.e. Perfume, Aftershave, Paints etc, or anything Pressurised, i.e. Hairspray, Deodorants, etc and it goes without saying that we are not permitted to carry any Explosives, Firearms, Radioactive Materials or Liquid Batteries.
Note- If any of these items are identified they will be removed and confiscated, also a fine may be levied.
